15 year old Tovanna Holton committed suicide after cyberbullies released nude footage on snapchat of her in the shower. The nude video was shared to Snapchat for her classmates to view according to the family.

Tovanna’s mother Levon Holton-Teamer informed WFLA-TV that her daughter stole a small handgun from her purse and fatally shot her self in the bathroom. Tovanna shot herself within 3 hours of the alleged snapchat incident. Tovanna locked the bathroom door in order to prevent her mother from getting into it. Tovanna’s mother reported that when she entered the bathroom she saw Tovanna laying in a pool of blood. She stated that she tried to apply pressure to her to save her life but was unsuccessful.

Tovanna’s aunt Angel Scott discovered nude images were shared with classmates on Facebook based upon a post by a close friend. Tovanna Aunt stated that kids were calling Tovanna names on Facebook and letting people know the nude video was released on Snapchat.

After searching on Facebook for clues to what pushed Tovanna over the edge, her aunt discovered that a close friend shared nude images of Tovanna with other classmates without the teen’s permission.

“I just said, ‘If anybody knows anything, what happened? Have you heard of anything? Do you know who these kids are who have the pictures?’ I thought it was just pictures and then the kids started inboxing me,” Tovonna’s aunt Angel Scott told the news station.

Tovanna’s Mother is asking the authorities to press charges against the teens responsible for posting the videos
